Fed: Police swoop on Canberra suburb
A three-hour stand-off in a south west Canberra suburb has ended with a man surrendering
to police.
Police say the man .. who's in his 30s .. has turned himself in at Woden police station
about 5.30 pm (AEST).
They've confirmed a firearm was involved in the incident in Rivett .. but they're not
willing to reveal any further details.
More than 70 children were locked into the local primary school and a child care centre
.. while police wearing flak jackets searched for the man .. following an incident in
another suburb.
