Vic: Search for fisherman to be scaled back
The search for a fisherman missing off the Victorian coast will near an end today as
the likelihood of him still being alive is very slim.
Police say 64-year-old FERGUS CONROY has been missing since Tuesday when his boat overturned.
A police spokesman says Mr CONROY'S fishing partner was rescued by two surfers who
went to the men's assistance after hearing yells for help.
It's understood Mr CONROY drifted away from the seven-metre boat which was later located
washed ashore.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman says the search will resume at first light today with
local police to conduct patrols along the shore, but there will be no air or sea support.
